This event format doesn't exist anywhere else in the world!

The pioneers of the 2026 edition helped us see that we weren't the only ones dreaming of adventure, in the travel sense of the word! So thank you to them for helping us lay the foundations of what we believe — and are doing everything to make — a new international event format!

The Trophy will take place roughly every 18 months and will change host country with every edition!

Yes, the ambition is huge. Yes, it's going to be a real organisational challenge. But all together, I'm convinced we'll get there!

A RALLY-RAID LOOKS FOR THE FASTEST TIME.
THE TROPHY LOOKS FOR THE BEST TRAVELLER ON THE PLANET.

Crossing the world on a motorcycle takes far more than knowing how to ride fast. You have to find your way, understand your machine, manage your resources and keep a cool head when nothing goes to plan. Fix things with whatever you have. Choose a detour rather than force your way through. Lend a hand, and accept one when it's offered.

Unlike every other event in the world, here safety while riding must be at the centre. Not that safety doesn't matter elsewhere, but in a traditional competition you take every risk to try to be faster than the others! And riders allow themselves to do so because they know a whole safety net is in place, in an environment where normally there is nothing.

At the Trophy, we are very, very far from that approach: it is even the exact opposite! You ride as on a real journey, knowing that safety infrastructure is very limited, sometimes completely non-existent. A good traveller is someone who puts safety above everything else, so as to always be able to keep moving forward. Yes, said like that it may sound strange, but yes: road safety really is central to this event!

The Lone Rider Trophy by Tom Barrer turns all of these qualities into a competition. Riding, navigation, self-reliance, mechanics, strategy and teamwork: every challenge explores one side of motorcycle travel. Here, twisting the throttle won't be enough to make the difference. You'll also have to observe, think and adapt.

Our ambition: to reward the best motorcycle traveller on the planet. The one who can handle anything, not just go faster than everyone else.

BRINGING BACK THE SPIRIT
OF THE GREAT ADVENTURE CHALLENGES.

The Trophy was born from a longing: to recapture what made us dream in the great adventure challenges of the past, like the Camel Trophy. Mud-covered machines, crews facing the unknown, and the conviction that with ingenuity, determination and a few helping hands, there was always a way through.

What stayed with people was the obstacle as much as the way it was overcome together. You had to ride, search, repair, improvise. Machines had their limits; human resources then took over. And people remembered the faces, the struggles and the shared exploits long after the rankings were forgotten.

That is the spirit I wanted to bring back with the Lone Rider Trophy by Tom Barrer, adapted to motorcycle travel. And who knows… maybe one day 4×4s will make a comeback in this event! 😉

An adventure where you use your head as much as your arms, where resourcefulness counts as much as equipment, and where the other participants are part of the solution.

Bringing back the kind of challenges that made us want to set off. And taking you to the other side of the screen.

Wondering if you're good enough? Ask yourself instead whether you're ready to do what it takes.

YOUR ADVENTURE. YOUR PACE.

No challenge is mandatory. No riding challenge rewards speed against the clock. You choose the challenges you want to take on, depending on your level, your motivation and how you feel that day.

The schedule is there to keep you safe. The start time tells you when you may leave, without forcing you to set off at that exact moment. The finish time sets the deadline by which you must have arrived. In between, you manage your own day: leave later, arrive earlier, take time for a break or a chance encounter.

To be a finisher, there is only one condition: link every bivouac under your own steam.

Play for the rankings or live the adventure to the full: it's up to you to choose what you came for.

TRAVEL AND COMPETITION DON'T MIX?

People often set the two against each other. As if a ranking stopped you from enjoying a landscape, meeting someone or lending a hand. But it all depends on what the competition rewards. At the Trophy, the goal isn't to cross a country as fast as possible: it's to reward the qualities that make a good traveller.

Observing, finding your way, looking after your bike, making the right choices and adapting to the unexpected. The ranking adds a game, strategy and a reason to push yourself. It doesn't decide for you what will make your day memorable. You can go all-in for points, put the experience first, or find your own balance between the two.

Travel gives the competition its meaning. The competition invites you to explore travel further.

EVERY DAY, A NEW CHALLENGE.
IT'S UP TO YOU TO FIND YOUR WAY.

In the morning, the briefing sets out the rules of the game. Then it's your turn: follow a track, find waypoints, choose your route and take on the challenges along the way. Some will test your riding, others your sense of direction, your mechanical knowledge or your ability to get by.

You'll have to decide where to go, which objectives to attempt and how far to commit. Your level, your bike, your fatigue and your strategy will guide your choices. The hardest route won't necessarily be your best option.

The exact programme stays secret until you live it. You'll have the information you need to prepare, but not every answer before you leave. Because knowing how to adapt is also part of the challenge.

CHOOSING YOUR DIFFICULTY
IS ALREADY A SIGN OF INTELLIGENCE.

Your level, your bike, your fatigue: everything counts. A trail that tempts you in the morning can become a very different challenge at the end of the day. At the Trophy, knowing how to adjust your ambition is one of a traveller's qualities. But adventure is also a chance to discover that you're capable of far more than you imagined.

When fatigue sets in and one last challenge appears, the questions become personal: how far are you able to go? How far do you want to go? And how far is it reasonable to push yourself? The answer depends on your experience, your resources and your own vision of adventure.

Sometimes, pushing yourself means attempting the section that intimidates you, persevering, or finding the energy for one last effort. Sometimes it means accepting a change of route despite wanting to carry on. Pushing your limits only makes sense when you know why you keep going — and when it's time to stop.

You choose your level of commitment. It's up to you to find the balance between enjoyment, challenge and the desire to come back tomorrow and do it all again.

Now that you know all this, you're probably wondering: "Which category is right for me?"

The categories are simply there to make the competition fairer between different motorcycles. They don't determine how hard your adventure will be: whatever your category, you choose your level at every metre of your Trophy! Depending on your mood, your fatigue and the challenges you want to take on, you decide how far you want to go.

Go ahead and explore the different categories!
